2019 AFTCO Open Day 1

Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas is one of the most attractive and popular stops on the Collegiate Bass Fishing circuit and here it is playing host to the 2019 AFTCO Open. This is one of the biggest events of the season, so over 350 students have assembled from all over the country. It's late autumn and the cold, windy conditions are going to make things difficult. At this time of year the Bass are feeding on Shad, so all the talk in the build up is about getting hold of the best imitation Shad lures. Out on the water it's "find the Shad, find the Bass". Last year's winners Rudy Worley and John David Nowlin from Blue Mountain College are here to defend their trophy, but aren't finding things quite so easy this time around. One pair who do get off to a good start are fellow "Toppers" Isaac Duncan and Taylor Owens, but it looks like many of the teams will be struggling to fill their limits.
