This is what Carp fishing is supposed to be. In this episode of Chilly On Carp, Ian ‘Chilly’ Chillcott get’s a chance to fish a secret river in the south of England for some of the most beautiful little wild Carp in the country. It’s the first day of the river season in the middle of June, and these fish are essentially untouched. Nestled quietly among the bushes, Chilly spots a plethora of fish species feeding in a tiny pool, including two or three nice carp. They immediately come on the feed, which in the gin-clear, shallow water is like fishing in an aquarium. Close quarters stalking...this is perhaps the purest form of Carp fishing.
Ian 'Chilly' Chilcott takes on Mark Bryant in the latest installment of Carp Wars 2016 - it is a crunch time for both of these anglers - Mark could go top with a win, while Chilly needs victory to stay in the race.
Ian 'Chilly' Chillcott puts his tried and trusted methods to good use on a recent session at The Quarry Fishery in Essex.
The Carp just won’t stop biting in this episode of Chilly On Carp, as Ian ‘Chilly’ Chillcott enjoys the best three mornings of fishing of his life. It’s springtime and the show has been invited to a relatively unfished syndicate water known to hold some monster Carp. Barely thirty seconds after casting out and the rod rips off, setting the tone for three days of havoc and giants. Chilly details the rigs and baiting tactics that he used not only on this incredible session, but throughout his illustrious carping career. This is one of those rare times that a fisherman doesn’t need to exaggerate.
Ian ‘Chilly’ Chillcott is chasing monsters in this episode of Ebro Maniacs, as he goes fishing for huge Wels Catfish in Spain. Not only are these fish the biggest freshwater species in Europe, growing in excess of two hundred pounds, but the Ebro is considered the ultimate destination to catch them. With this thought in his mind, an excited Ian casts out near the city of Caspe, joined by the Catfish experts from Catfish Capers Holidays. After a few smaller species find the bait, Ian gets a chance to land one of the biggest freshwater fish of his life, making for the trip of a lifetime.
It doesn’t get much better than the Warwickshire Avon. In this episode of Chilly On Carp, Ian ‘Chilly’ Chillcott has a vendetta to overcome, he needs to catch his first ever UK river Carp. Beginning at the famous Warwick Castle, Chilly finds what he thinks is the perfect spot among some attractive lily pads. The location may be ideal, and the sun may be shining, but there’s a lot to endure on this session. Through screaming boaters, dog walkers, lost fish and monsoon level rain storms, Chilly grits his teeth and ends on a monumental session that might just kick off a career of river carping.
This episode sees two great mates go up against each other - Dave Lane and Ian Chillcott put their friendship to one side in this crunch match from Brightlingsea Fisheries. They're tied in third place, but with a match in hand, Laney must feel like he's got the best chance of a place in the final.
This is what Carp Wars is all about: two of the UK’s most respected and knowledgable carp fishermen going head to head. In tricky conditions, which of the two Ians will come out on top? Two points for Russell would see him leap-frog Mark Bryant to join young Harry Pratt at the top of the leaderboard, and three would catapult him into first place, while Chilly is still hunting his first points of the series, so it’s all to fish for.
