Catch the Trophy is a series dedicated to some of the best Carp fishing in Europe. Based out of Serbia, this crew of passionate anglers travel to France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia in search of some of the biggest Carp in the world. Unique theories on feeding, rigs and bait production from world champion and world record hold carp fisherman offer an insight to what it takes to hunt down these huge specimens. Shown alongside revealing underwater footage, Catch the Trophy is a must watch for anyone looking to land a monster.

This three-part instalment of Catch the Trophy sees Nikola Milic and Slaven Vacic travel to a German lake. home to some illusive monster Carp. Futurbaits Lake near Munich is no easy session. The Carp are few and far between and they’re hard to catch, but the rewards are pristine fish up to 50 pounds. In this final episode of Catch the Trophy in Germany, Nikola Milic and Slaven Vacic look to achieve their goal of catching one of the big Carp from Futurbaits lake. The rain’s beginning to affect the water and the weeds near the swim are causing problems. As the sun sets down the action comes fast, but with the snaggy surroundings, two big carp drop off near the net. After adjusting their rigs to longer pop-ups, one perfect common carp saves the day.

This beautiful water is full of big fish, so it’s hard to see how this could have been the site of a landfill 10 years prior. In part two of Catch the Trophy’s trip to Lake Maveline, Milos Antic endures tough conditions to land a massive French Carp. After his first night of success, Milos awakes to a perfect morning as the fog lifts off the water. It’s a tricky lake, so Milos’ only chance is to fish tight to the snags and fallen trees where the carp can be seen feeding on the underwater cameras. Fish after fish is lost to the hard conditions, but as his last day comes to a close, he finally gets his opportunity.

Catch the Trophy visits Smatrinsko Lake to begin their two-part trip to Slovenia in search of a monster Carp. After hearing rumours of a 35kg specimen, the crew arrive in force to one of the country’s biggest fisheries. Despite its size, Smatrinsko is wild and beautiful, and it takes hours of exploration to find the narrow channels of hardened ground where the fish like to feed. With the help of big baits and stealthy rigs, their preparation pays off as the crew get ready for the session of a lifetime.

In part-two of their trip to Smatrinsko Lake, the Catch the Trophy crew try to catch a big Slovenian Carp amid tough conditions. Day two begins much the same as day one, the fish come fast as the sun rises and the fog clears, but in a disastrous turn of events a rainstorm hits and the Carp disappear. The anglers mix up a specialised spod mix to draw them back into the swim, and the newly oxygenated water sends the fish into a feeding frenzy. The night session that follows caps off an awesome session with multiple trophy Carp.

In this first episode of the series, Catch the Trophy travel to Oeynhausen Traiskirchen Lake in Austria for an intense 4-day Carp session. The show starts by visiting Dragsa Ivanovic at his secret Carp laboratory beneath the streets of Vienna, where he creates his unique boilies and baits developed from years of experience chasing massive carp. The clear, blue water and heavy vegetation make this lake an idyllic haven for carp, but a tricky challenge for the angler. Using his special baits and small PVA rigs, Dragsa and his friends begin the trip with some big, healthy Austrian carp.

In part-two of their trip to Austria’s Oeynhausen Traiskirchen Lake, Catch the Trophy join Sladen Jovanovic on a memorable day of Carp fishing. The perfect conditions and natural surroundings of the lake are encouraging, as fish after fish over 10kg hit the banks around the water. Sladen explains his homemade boilee recipe, developed over 20 years of research into Carp behaviour. Coupled with a unique running lead system, they prove their effectiveness as Sladen lands an unexpected monster over 50 pounds on his first ever session.

In the final days of their trip to Oeynhausen Traiskirchen Lake, Slaven and Dragsa navigate tricky conditions to catch a massive haul of Austrian Carp. After a great start to the trip of over twenty fish, a storm moves in and the Carp disappear. Slaven devises a plan to deal with the nervous fish by baiting a wide area as the sun sets. Once the lightning subsides, the fish come hard on the feed and the duo cap off an epic session.

The crew head to the Fishing centre in Vienna to meet Kristof Cuderman, a multiple world record holder and angling legend. While sharing his secrets, we look at footage of some of his biggest catches; fish approaching a mythical 40kg in weight. With their new knowledge, the crew head to the local river to fish for feisty wild Carp with one of the locals.

Catch the Trophy visits Lake Zabar in Bosnia in this episode for a hidden gem in European Carp fishing. The crew arrive to Zabar on a hot summers day at the invite of Lazar Kuperski, who’s made this incredible fishery his home water. Created by a flooded gravel mine, the result is an unintentionally perfect carp habitat of holes, islands and channels. The trip begins well with an impressive fish over 30lb, so lazar shows off his unique pva bag techniques, leading to the ultimate trophy.

In part two of their trip to Bosnia’s Lake Zabar, the Catch the Trophy crew continue their search for a big Carp. After the success of the summer session, Zlatan Ganic returns later in the year to join Lazar in a more secluded area of the Lake. Underwater footage shows how the Carp react to the different baits, and it’s not long before some of Zabar’s famously hard fighting specimens hit the bank.

In this instalment of Catch the Trophy, the show visits Lake Skadar in Montenegro for some competitive Carp fishing. As the largest body of water in the Balkans, Lake Skadar is 530 square kilometres of clear water, dramatic scenery and perfect wild Carp. The show visits the island monastery and discuss the conservation taking place to protect the wild fish population. After a fishing competition kicks off, the anglers realise how hard these wiley fish can fight.

In part 2 of their trip to Montenegro, the Catch the Trophy team close out a competitive session at Skadar Lake. This huge expanse of water has a growing population of wild Carp, but the bankside activity of the first day has pushed them out of range. As the ground bait settles overnight the fish begin to show and the competition hots up. The catches slowly get bigger, and the show finishes with an impressive wild Carp worthy of a trophy!

This episode of Catch the Trophy visits Italy’s Lake Salasco, lured in with promises of massive trophy Carp. Having travelled most of Europe in their pursuit of trophies, this is the first time the crew have fished in Italy. Lake Salasco is home to to some incredible Sturgeon, Grass Carp, Catfish and most importantly some famous King carp. One in particular, nicknamed ‘El Toro’ holds the Italian record at almost 42kg, so the boys discuss the heavy duty tackle they’ll be using. The trip gets off to a good start, but as the weather takes a turn, they begin to understand why these monster carp have such an elusive reputation.
