Sometimes being a FishingTV staff member sucks. I spend my days watching other people fishing in incredible locations, and catching amazing fish the like of which I will probably never be able to catch myself. And then there’s all the brilliant competitions that I can’t enter.

Like this one, where we’re giving away a week’s accommodation in an amazing converted French farmhouse in the Dordogne Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. There’s a pool, a huge garden, gorgeous bedrooms and living spaces, and it just happens to be bordered on one side by the River Lot, one of France’s premiere coarse fishing rivers. Oh, and we’re throwing in some money towards your travel.

The house sleeps up to 7 people, and with loads to do in the local area for all the family, from wine tasting to canoeing to sightseeing and, this being France, visiting the local markets and eating yourself silly.

The property has about 150m of riverbank and there’s also a boat available for drifting or static fishing. The river is known to hold carp to 60lb, catfish to 100lb (you know, the kind that eat pigeons), plus pike, perch, black bass and a host of other species.

To enter the competition, just head over to the competition page and fill out the form.
