Defending champions Cole Floyd and Carter McNeil are hoping to make it an unprecedented two in a row and School of the Year will also be decided. A new season gets under way and we feature two of its most important dates, the Big Bass Bash, where the largest single fish of the two days wins and the AFTCO Open held on the beautuful and ever popular Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas. Here we preview the culmination of the 2018-19 Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, the biggest event in the calendar, the 2019 Championship. Held in late May on Pickwick Lake at Florence, Alabama, hundreds of college anglers arrive early for practice sessions and to be "wined and dined" by some of the big names in the Bass fishing industry. Yamaha hold an appreciation evening, with a casting competition and plenty of prizes. Garmin show off their latest technology including the PanOptix Livescope and on "Banquet Night" the competitors fill their goody bags with freebies from a host of other sponsors. Feedback from the practice sessions is mixed, in mid summer the Bass tend to go deep, so the teams are looking for ledges holding shoals of fish. The winners will be the ones that can get the most out of their electronics and make the best choice of baits. As well as the Championship trophy, the 2019 School of the Year award is also up for grabs, so it promises to be two days of intense competition. In the next episode we follow the highlights from Day 1. To watch 2019 Collegiate Bass Championship now, just login or join

After all the build up, we finally get into the action on Day 1 of the 2019 Collegiate Bass Championship on Pickwick Lake, Alabama. There are over a hundred teams representing their respective colleges and universities, in what is regarded as the biggest event of the year. As well as the Championship trophy, the award for School of the Year will also be presented. The pairs have to fill a 5 fish limit and the guess is that anything over 20lbs will be near the top of the leaderboard. A couple of practice sessions have suggested that the Bass will be deep in the water and that locating some well inhabited ledges could be key to success. Defending champions Cole Floyd and Carter McNeil from Bethel University are out early and putting a decent bag of fish together, can they make it two years in a row? After day 1 of the 2019 Collegiate Bass Championship, last years winners Cole Floyd and Carter McNeil were top of the leader board with a total of just under 23lbs, can they go back to back? They know they will have to produce something similar on Day 2 to do so. The rest of the field will be hoping they can find a shoal of large fish to give themselves a chance, something over 25lbs will be needed. The conditions are similar to Day 1 with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the high 90's. As well as the Championship trophy, the School of the Year Award is also going to be decided, with McKendree University looking favourites having held the top spot for the previous 8 weeks and having two teams in the top 10 after day 1. The first ACA event of the 2019-20 season is the Big Bass Bash, this year staged on Kentucky Lake at Paris, Tennessee. This meeting should have taken place back in March, but due to unseasonally high water, had to be moved down the calendar to October. Almost 200 teams have arrived, all with one aim in mind, to catch the biggest fish over their two days out on the lake. The Fall isn't always the easiest time to catch Bass, add to that abnormally high temperatures and who knows how the fish are going to behave or where they are going to be found. Although everyone agrees it's going to be tough, opinions vary on what size will win it, with the consensus suggesting somewhere around 7lbs will be enough. There are 4 weigh in sessions each day with prizes and points being awarded for each one, but it's the big one that they are all hoping to catch. The 2019 Collegiate Bass series Big Bass Bash from Kentucky Lake, Tennessee enters day 2 with the hundreds of student anglers all looking to bag the biggest single Bass of the two days. There are 4 weigh in sessions each day, all carrying prizes and points. The largest Bass caught on day one weighed in at only 4.85lbs, much less than was expected, so everyone is hoping they can go out and smash that today. The conditions are slightly more favourable, but the organisers have added a twist, the only baits that can be used are those of the tournament sponsor, Berkley. With the water temperature warmer than normal, it sounds as though the top water lures will be used the most. Session 2 is won by Hunter Schneider from Adrian College with a largemouth at 5.16lbs, but will that be enough to win the whole event? To watch 2019 Big Bass Bash Day 2 now, just login or join

Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas is one of the most attractive and popular stops on the Collegiate Bass Fishing circuit and here it is playing host to the 2019 AFTCO Open. This is one of the biggest events of the season, so over 350 students have assembled from all over the country. It's late autumn and the cold, windy conditions are going to make things difficult. At this time of year the Bass are feeding on Shad, so all the talk in the build up is about getting hold of the best imitation Shad lures. Out on the water it's "find the Shad, find the Bass". Last year's winners Rudy Worley and John David Nowlin from Blue Mountain College are here to defend their trophy, but aren't finding things quite so easy this time around. One pair who do get off to a good start are fellow "Toppers" Isaac Duncan and Taylor Owens, but it looks like many of the teams will be struggling to fill their limits. Day 2 of the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Fishing Open 2019 is severely delayed by fog, but once it lifts, clear blue skies signal an exciting, if slightly shortened day's fishing. Garrett Warren and John Owens from Snead State Community College are carrying a half pound lead into the second day with their 17.85 lbs bag from day 1. They head back to where they were successful yesterday, but in close proximity are the teams lying in second and third places, all fishing the same area, near the shore, half way down the lake. Garrett and John know that with only a short session available, 3 or 4 good fish might be enough. To watch 2019 AFTCO Open Day 2 now, just login or join
