In this premiere episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, Finnish anglers Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto face trials and tribulations in search of subsurface Grayling on a frozen lake. In this special winter edition, the unforgiving nature of the cold Finland wilderness is on full display. To even make it out of the house, Janne, Ismo and Ville must jump in an old warrior of a 4x4 from Janne’s garage. When even that struggles to get to the lake, the boys work through the night creating a Frankenstein’s monster machine capable of working in the icy conditions. But the problems don’t stop there. Upon arrival, the crew quickly discover the ice is too thick to be drilled by hand…

Finnish anglers Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto are back on the ice in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, as they come up with their own unique way of catching Whitefish from a frozen lake in northern Finland. The Spring has come, but the ice is still thick up north, so the boys decide to put their own spin on a local method of fish stalking. After arriving to their chosen spot on one of Ville’s old relic snowmobiles, they construct a makeshift periscope, allowing Ismo to lay face down on the Ice to search for fish below…

Finnish anglers Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto take ridiculous to the next level in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, as they create the ultimate modern day fish trap to target Zander beneath the ice. As yet unsuccessful, Ville has his heart set on a Thai zander ‘Tom Yum’ soup for dinner, so the crew need to pull out all the stops. Out of the workshop comes a prototype for a musical fish trap unlike anything else. A combination of manpower and bicycle power feeds the underwater disco, which Ismo, Ville and Janne hope will draw spawning Zander to the trap from around the lake as they lay back in their makeshift hot tub. It looks like they’ve finally lost their minds…

Hosts Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto take passive fishing to new heights in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, as they merge the two great Scandinavian traditions of fishing and saunas. After awaking from a night of drinking on a frozen river boat, the boys have a craving for Norwegian fish soup. It seems the only option is cut a huge hole in the ice, strap on a bicycle and create a rotating, steam heated fishing hut. Ville once again gets the short end of the stick and jumps into the icy water to add some swim power to the contraption. Perhaps the extra rotation will bring a fish to the bank? Perhaps these guys are a lost cause…

There’s a brutal snowstorm in northern Finland, so Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto come up with a slightly warmer way of catching dinner in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish. The topic of the day is renewable materials, so after a trip to the recycling centre our hosts put together three ecological contraptions of drainpipes and tents to try and trap a Mackerel. Ecuadorian encebollado soup usually requires deep sea Tuna, but the boys will take whatever they can get. Once the traps are set, it’s back to the revolving sauna for a little whisky while the fish come on the feed.

Hosts Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto are feeling the frustration in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, so they try their hand at boat fishing on the ice. It’s been a long winter in Finland, and the boys are missing the ease of the summer angling. It seems the only thing to do when the lake is frozen with three feet of ice...is take out the ice. Once the makeshift river is finished, the boat is ready to set sail and Ville’s bouillabaisse seafood soup is within reach.

Hosts Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto try getting up close and personal with their intended quarry in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, as they once again go in search of supper in the frozen lakes of northern Finland. Still in the middle of a freezing ice storm, it takes a lot to brave the elements of this Finnish winter, so as a thank you for his sacrifices through the series, Janne and Ismo construct Ville the ultimate salvagers survival suit. Once fully protected, Ville can jump into the sub-zero water where the fish of the day are waiting to be caught.

The fishing is proving difficult so far in this series of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, so Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto decide to see if a little friendly competition will provide the necessary inspiration. In an effort to finally catch a fish for Ville’s Russian Ukha soup, the boys employ an army of robotic drones and homemade jet ski’s to make it out to the fishing spot. When all hope looks lost, Janne feels a tug on the end of the line, and it only makes sense to celebrate with a freezing cold swim.

Hosts Ismo Apell and Ville Haapasalo take their pursuit into the water in this episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, as they receive their first lesson in cold water Scuba Diving with a twist. While Janne works on a secret project behind doors, friend and scuba fanatic Jani joins the cause. After a quick instructional and snow clearing session, the crew suit up and hit the lakebed armed with rods and reels. When the fishing proves difficult, they turn their attention downward and find themselves an unlikely prize worth even more than fish soup.

In this final episode of 10 Ridiculous Ways to Fish, Finnish anglers Ismo Apell, Ville Haapasalo and Janne Kapylehto pull out all the stops to put an end to the series. Armed with rods and chainsaws, Janne gets to work on their greatest accomplishment yet, a spinning ice carousel worthy of Disneyland from which they can troll lures. At the finish line, Janne, Ismo and Ville take the time to look back at some of the weirdest creations from the series.
