Each week, the trio sets out to catch elusive species like Pike, Perch, Zander, Wells Catfish, Bluefin Tuna, Ferox Trout, and Skate, navigating the challenges of the wild with skill and determination.

However, this series goes beyond the thrill of the catch. Along their journey, the anglers team up with other expert fishers, conservationists, and scientists, delving into the pressing issues facing the UK's aquatic ecosystems. Through these collaborations, the series sheds light on the delicate balance between sport fishing and conservation, exploring topics such as habitat destruction, species preservation, and sustainable fishing practices.

With breathtaking scenery, heart-pounding fishing action, and insightful discussions on environmental stewardship, "Untamed Anglers - Monster Quest" is more than just a fishing show. It's a call to action, urging viewers to appreciate and protect the natural beauty and biodiversity of the UK's waters.
James Stokoe, Ripon Khalique and Hywel Morgan tackle the Scottish coast in pursuit of the legendary monster Skate. Renowned as one of the UK's largest fish, these mysterious flat fish have been caught to over 9 feet long and 200 pounds in weight. Venturing into the deep and dangerous waters off Oban, known as the Skate mecca, they enlist local experts Leigh Taylor and Scott Patterson for guidance. From casting lures from the rocks for feisty pollack to dropping baits in 400 feet of water, the team encounters an abundance of marine life, but when a small fish gives Hywel a run for his money, James braces himself for a back-breaking battle when a true giant moves in on the bait. Through drama and laughs, the show explores how anglers like Scott and Leigh have brought this magnificent species back from the brink of extinction.
In the thrilling finale of their quest for monster fish, James Stokoe, Ripon Khalique, and Hywel Morgan target the UK's most mysterious giant: the Bluefin Tuna. Absent from British waters for 60 years, these colossal fish, weighing up to 1500 pounds, have returned in numbers. Fishing out of Mevagissey in Cornwall, the trio enlists the help of local tuna legend Chris Gill, whose boat is among the few permitted to catch these endangered beasts under a conservation tagging programme. With James and Ripon having already caught their fish of a lifetime, it's Hywel's turn to end the series with a bang. But can he handle the power of one of the world's most sought-after sport fish?
Wels Catfish
James, Ripon, and Hywel continue their quest the for the UK’s biggest fish as they visit the famous Anglers Paradise in Devon in pursuit of giant Wels Catfish. Crowned as the UK’s biggest freshwater fish, there are few places where these behemoths can be caught. One such place is the incredible Anglers paradise, a huge estate of lakes built, owned and operated by Zenia Gregorek and her family, filled with all manner of exotic creatures.Seasoned local fisherman and monster hunter Joe Dietrich teaches the boys the unique methods needed to single out the biggest Catfish, known to grown to a staggering 100 pounds in the lake. After a quick boost of confidence with small fish, the boys struggle to outsmart the truly big cats, until one anglers rod bends into an unstoppable force.
In the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the Untamed Anglers embark on their most challenging expedition yet: to catch the elusive Ferox Brown Trout of Loch Awe. With its vast expanse and depths reaching 93 meters, this naturally beautiful lake is one of the few highland waters still home to these huge and mysterious predatory Brown Trout. Joined by expert Ferox anglers Aya Thorne and Alan Kettle-White, James and Ripon delve into the unique techniques of trolling lures and baits in the depths of the Ferox's domain and explore the threats and conservation of the species. Meanwhile, Hywel and predator angler Chris Smith tackle the aggressive Loch Awe Pike on the banks with dead baits. As they face nature's ultimate test, will the anglers emerge as worthy conquerors of these famous fish, or will they be outsmarted like countless anglers before them?
In this season premiere episode of Untamed Anglers, James Stokoe, Ripon Khalique, and Hywel Morgan venture to the legendary Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire, known for harbouring some of the UK's most monstrous predators. With the help of England lure fishing captain Thom Hunt and Grafham veteran Tom Finnay, the team faces the daunting challenge of tackling this vast water. Battling against relentless winds whipping the lake into a frenzy, James employs his favourite fly fishing techniques while Ripon and Hywel dive deep with artificial lures. As they soon discover, landing these behemoths is no easy feat, so they employ the help of old friend and predator fly angler Jo Stephenson. Amidst the tumultuous waters, Ripon's rod bends under the weight of the fish of a lifetime, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown with one of Grafham Water's elusive giants.

Much anticipated and didn’t disappoint!

A great opening episode of another series from James, Ripon, Hywel and guests, with the usual mixture of fun, competition and camaraderie. Pike, Perch and Zander are on the list and although from the title, you’re hoping that a few biggies will put in an appearance, nothing prepares you for a real life monster to show up! Can’t wait for the next episode to drop.
