Fishing with Des Taylor

Des Taylor takes us to some of his favourite locations to fish for a variety of the UKs most popular species.

From perch in the local marina to lake pike and river grayling, Des shows off and shares his deep knowledge and skill in this intimate ten part series.
In this full length programme Des Taylor visits one of his favourite stretches of the Severn to show how to set about targeting specimen chub from a big, powerful river.

Crucian Carp
Crucian Carp aren't big but they are certainly beautiful and are highly prized by the UK's coarse anglers. In this episode, Des Taylor heads over to the home of crucians, Johnson Lake in Surrey.  Johnson Lake has produced some magnificent fish in the past producing many 3 and 4lbers so can Des beat his PB of 3lb 9oz today? Conditions aren't perfect but after carefully selecting his swim on the windward bank, Des gets his rods out and explains the various methods and tactics he will use to target the lake's specimen crucian carp. On a glorious summer's morning Des Taylor visits a beautiful estate lake in the heart of Shropshire to target tench.  
Des Taylor spends an idyllic day on the glorious River Severn, and demonstrates a few ways to maximise your chances of catching barbel.  
Des Taylor shows us how to target specimen grayling using float and maggot tactics.  
Des gets a sneak preview of RH Fisheries' new lake Monument 2, and the chance to catch some pristine carp.  
As the temperature drops Des' thoughts turn to Pike, and he heads to a lake in the heart of the Midlands, where he cut his teeth as a youngster.  
Des visits the famous Sway Lakes to try and catch a 2lb roach, but he has to put all his experience to the test, overcoming conditions made tricky by high winds.  
Des heads up to the Big Smoke for a session out of Kingston-Upon-Thames. He joins local skipper Warwick Salzer onboard Fling Your Hook, and they try trolling an assortment of live and dead baits targeting pike and if possible an elusive zander.
