Clubs are the lifeblood of angling in the UK. ‘Real’ anglers with jobs and families who don’t get out as often as they’d like, but when they do make that sure they enjoy familiar trials and tribulations, and the occasional success, with plenty of ‘ribbing’ to go with it.
FishingTV's Rae Borras joins some of the top clubs and associations in the land from coarse, sea and game fishing for a day on the bank. Rae talks to members about the club's history, their waters and what makes them tick – and sneaks in some fishing while he’s at it!
A fascinating spotlight on the Birmingham Anglers Association, formed in 1883 and one of the largest fishing clubs in the country. In fact at one point in the 1970's they had over 70,000 members 1200 affiliated clubs. Rae Borras presents this show and interviews club officials Ken Giles, Ken Cope and Lee Woodhouse.
In this episode of Club Class, Rae Borras visits the Barbel Society formed in 1994 by Steve Pope and Mike Ball. Rae visits one of the club's renowned stretches of Worcestershire's prolific River Teme for some coloured water barbel sport.
